God is but God

Where is God?
Simply look around you.  God is everywhere.
Simply look inside you.  God is there too.

Look!  Look outward beyond yourself at everything that is.
Everything that is, all things have the all pervasive unity of being.
And yet in that unity, is all the diversity of everything in the world.

Look!  Gaze inside yourself.
Your thoughts, your feelings
Your yearnings, your solace.
All these have being just as much as you yourself have being.
And yet in the unity of you, something makes them different.
Something makes your thoughts and feelings different from you, and different in you.

But how can we know that that which is out and around us
Really has real being and is not just a fleeting illusion?
Except with the reality and being of our own minds.

And yet how can we know the being of our own minds?
Except that we find it distinctly different from that
Which the mind observes and differentiates both in and around ourselves.

So where is God?  What is God?  How is God?
In the world?  The world itself?  Or beyond the world?
In our minds?  Mind itself?  Or beyond our minds?
Or,
Is there really a difference if but we say that God is.

This is why it is said,
God is the Ground of all Being
And yet the Heart of all Difference.

In this way, God is the Ground of Being, not a being himself.
Just as God is the Heart of Difference, not different from all things else.
For how could we ever detect or know a God over, above, and beyond us and everything?

Alas, what can we say?
But that
God is but God.
And see God everywhere,
Feel God in everything.
