Laundromat

Religion is like a laundromat

Heaps of laundry lugged in from all around town
Baskets and baskets and baskets full
Round and round and round it goes
Waiting waiting, folding and waiting

Some may ask, why doesn’t everyone have
A washer and dryer at their own home?
Wouldn’t that be more efficient?
Wouldn’t that be cheaper?
Wouldn't that be more, well, dignified?

Perhaps.

But just perhaps it is simply more appropriate to ask,
Why are there laundromats?
