Atheism isn’t necessarily anti-God
Its mostly just anti-Theism

For Theism lost its exclusive claim to God

As soon as it declared itself God’s spokesman to name heretics.

Whereas Atheism simply denies religious heresy altogether

And will just as soon round-out any notion of God if necessary

So to let the natural means of Creation back in for God’s sake

Which is Atheism’s God after all.

I mean just think of all the things we can seek, learn, know and love

Without Theism’s God!

I think setting aside delusions of some alien soul is a small price to pay

If only for the chance to really embrace life itself, right here right now.

As Lloyd Geering said, “‘Life’ is the new ‘God’”

And the study of our humanity its living text

Which if you ask me

Is more or less the old ‘God’, but without all the baggage and bull shit.

Or do we not see the stark difference between

Theism’s God and the message of Theism’s stories about God

Alas, life should be taken literally, not some Character of its stories

After all, stories are just part of affirming life, but never a substitute.

Propounds of God

Should never be more important than life and living

And Atheism should not have to point this out
To God's believers.
